The Void, my home. How could something comprised of nothing and empty become so wrong? In its chambers, I have dwelt for too long. To where can I go next? In the void, all action is empty. Out here, my every action is superfluous. My very nature is frivolous and my statements, prolix. If I am to protect those in need, these must change. So it is now that the villain is no longer time but myself. If I am to serve, I am to defeat... me. Can a hero battle himself and come out victorious? Foolish rouges, bold criminals, powerful scoundrels, and even time are one thing, but destroying that which lies within me is another. I am a foe I've never fought. I am a villain who not only knows my weaknesses but is my weakness.
As the mist retreats into the darkness, the storm creeps its way closer to the east. Its lightning reaching out to the ground as if pulling itself along by it. Why has it come to this? Was I such a fool in the past? The darkness will no longer reign. I was once a bat screaming through the night sky, but no one heard. Now I will be a neon sign of justice splitting the night's darkness and making that annoying high pitch buzz. A sign which no longer reads "Captain Thermostat, protector of justice" ...
Violently the sky tears itself open above. Lightning flies out striking the world. Rain floods. Wind smashes forward.
... but "Admiral Thermostat, savior of the thermostats, master of right, defeater of misdeeds!"
I am reborn! My powers well up as I prepare to destroy all that impedes justice, myself included! The time is now! Prepare yourself! The end is over, and the beginning is anew!
